Mike came to FPC in the fall of 1987. FPC has transitioned, under his leadership, from a traditional church to a multi-site church with 3 worship services. Previously he was a pastor in Oakland and Denver, and then Director of Men’s Ministry for Bible Study Fellowship.
He loves the creative staff he works with, the fun of using all the arts and technology to enhance worship and communicate the Word of God, and the privilege of seeing Jesus transform and heal lives!
He is very happily married to Susie, has one child in heaven and the other newly married in Colorado. He loves biking, sailing, hiking, listening to jazz and the blues, and dating Susie.
He graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. In Philosophy and Honors Humanities, from Princeton Seminary with a masters in biblical studies, and from Fuller Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry degree in Missions and Church Growth. He has done sabbaticals at Oxford University in literature, Hebrew University in Jerusalem in archeology and Judaism, Guanajuato, Mexico studying Spanish. |
